Borrowing its title from a collection of texts by Julio Cortázar, the exhibition Around the World in Eighty Worlds revisits the major works in the Capc’s collection from the perspective of renewed systems of representation of the world. Like other European museums, the Capc has built and developed its collection on a predominantly male and Anglo-European base, even though, since the 17th century, the commercial and cultural history of Bordeaux has been written through its relationship with Africa, Asia and the Americas.
