Building on the experience of hosting the first Pyeongchang Biennale in 2013, Gangwon Province successfully organized subsequent editions of Biennale. Recently, taking a longer-term vision, an international edition was transitioned into a Triennale format with the first Gangwon Triennale events of Gangwon Artists Show 2019, Gangwon Kids Triennale 2020, and Gangwon Triennale 2021 curated and to be realized in Hongcheon.
