Books on shelves and Without Letters is newly made video where I am performing certain video experiments, like to make atmospheric image using camera movement within larger screen. So there will be two screen projections and two smaller images moving inside separately, but showing the same scene.
In usual film making camera is moving to left of right to show a scene, but we don’t see actual movement of the camera as TV set or a Movie screen is stable, immobile. In my case I am trying not to hide camera moves, but show the turns of the view within larger screen. So if camera moves to left, the image is turning to the left and wise versus. With two screen projections it should create an impression of very large space.
I have filmed 40 min. length concert of a band “Without Letters” in a second hand book shop, in the interior with a sort of 80’s aesthetics. The band is playing among shelfs of books.Within the concert some people of the audience are looking through books, so it allows me to insert still documentary images from the past during the editing. All that is kept within analog video aesthetics using Betacam SP cameras, the format of the 80’s and early 90’s. My intension is to produce a dynamic video installation, recalling video experiments related to the music scene of the 80’s.
