By opening up photography to new experiments, many artists, whether or not they claim to be photographers, are revisiting abstraction: monochrome, colored shimmers, flatness or staging.
Abstraction as it is considered here is linked to the rise of new technologies but also to real trends that are now running through photography. At L’onde, the exhibition will take as its starting point the photographic activity of the famous Swedish playwright August Strindberg, to explore contemporary artistic practices that investigate the materiality of the image.
