Sound Installation for 24 speakers

Tout est boulevé is a sound installation for 24 speakers. It takes place, outdoors, in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, more specifically the Dauphin Grove.

It is a dislocated, fragmented, nonetheless narrative work, which makes a voice heard which circulates, in a scattered and irregular manner in the twelve alleys of the grove. A bursting of very short fragments which follow each other in staggered rows, respond to each other, complete or diffract, interspersed, separated and linked by silences.

The monologue of a woman. She evokes in a few words (suspended in a vacuum, without context or information) her difficulties in remembering, in orienting herself in time and in space, in defining what binds her to others, what she feels like change and as an upheaval. The vocalization of a de-centered, diffracted and shifting identity.

The person who walks in the alleys of the grove can be seized, in the middle of each one, by the pregnant and intermittent presence of the voice, but can also perceive at a distance the fragments of the other alleys around, from the closest to the most distant.

The overall sound montage distributes a spatial dispersion, hierarchized and layered by the distances and connections between the aisles. At the same time it spreads a common thread, a moving thought, a stubbornness, an interior monologue.
