Dominique Petitgand likes to define his works as stories and mental landscapes. He develops his installations from the recording of words, breaths, noises and music that he composes, solicits, deconstructs and cuts. His works are immaterial; they are designed according to the places, contexts and supports in which they take place. Je siffle au bord du quai [I whistle at the edge of the quay] comes to live in the apparent calm of the forest, at the edge of a lake. The whistling winds move from speaker to speaker, punctuated by short, deafening interruptions from a high-speed train. The walker looking for its origin is quickly confused by its irregular movement and its surprise appearances.
