Performance using sound system produced by Lomo Kinap plant employed in cinemas across the USSR. Between 1950’s and 80’s cinemas had very characteristic sound quality. Lomo Kinap plant manufactured the most admired sound systems across Soviet Union. These produced astonishing, gentle sound. Cinema of this period was creative, but its themes, methods, and expression were fairly regulated, as was political content most of all. Participants in performance are invited to experience the magical sound of 4A32 Lomo Kinap system.They may choose any music on a web DRM-based music streaming service. Every time an ‘innocent’ song is played, the sound is genera- ted by equipment produced during an oppressive political regime.
